remote working, interesting work, some nice people
Cons
disorganised leadership, culture and values are pushed by leaders who don't walk the talk, throwing money at everything leading to layoffs and blaming tech sector and recession issues

Thanks for your review. While we find it hard to read and do disagree with most of it, we can feel the weight of your words and cannot dispute the experience you felt you had - that we will acknowledge and apologise for. We never want anyone to have a bad experience at Ably. I hope in the three years you’ve been with us, you felt there were times you were able to grow and have enjoyed being a part of the Ably team.
You touch on a few delicate topics there that we do need to address. The first one is in relation to our finances. Your comments imply that Ably has spent money frivolously and that poor financial decisions have led to the business having to make difficult decisions - this is not accurate. As a rapidly scaling business it has absolutely been necessary for us to invest in our growth - we have always operated under the principle of frugality and this investment has been in line with recognised industry benchmarks for companies in our phase of growth. The reality is that macro economic conditions have changed in the past 12 months - that’s not an attempt to abdicate responsibility, but leadership has an obligation to react to those changes to safeguard the future of the business.
The next point we’d like to address is in reference to a “white boys club” - this again is not fair. We have a steadfast commitment to diversity at Ably and the proportion of Ablyans from underrepresented groups is well above the industry standard, both at leadership level and across the entire team.
We always endeavour to do better and improve ourselves, and we’d welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail and provide additional clarity on our decision making processes - please reach out if you’re still in the team with us on Slack, otherwise you can reach out to someone in the People Team via email.

Thanks for your review. The People and the Product come up time and again as reasons why it's enjoyable to work here. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed and appreciated the culture while you were with us.
Their platform works well but their GTM was unfortunately all over the place. Benefits were solid and the sales org was given the proper tools to manage their day to day responsibilities. Sales Engineering org knows their stuff and was always willing to go the extra mile to make the most out of opportunities.
Cons
Very little training was provided and while they always said they wanted to support and coach their reps, there was very little follow through on it. Commercially, there was little to no inbound so most activities were focused on brute force outbound that yielded very little results. Management had no answers or provided no feedback on how to improve it. The overall feeling for any reps outside of London was that you were an afterthought - across all functions it felt as though they just going through the paces if not UK-based
