Pros

- Blue collar dress code. Casual day every day. - Compressed work schedule. Every other Friday off. - Federal benefits package with generous vacation and sick leave. Job stability. - Good location if you want to live in Harford County MD.

Cons

- No project management methodology. No prioritization. Did not seem to accomplish much in terms of software product development. Lots of small projects/software projects in flight with little accomplishment on each. - Blue collar culture. Primary focus of organization is testing vehicles and equipment, so most employees work hands on in maintenance facilities. Software engineering is ancillary/supportive. So lower sophistication than other employers in regard to business process management and software engineering. - Employee experience gap: Hiring waves. Reagan buildup, Clinton decrease, Bush 2 buildup, Obama decrease. So, employee age and experience levels were clustered. Retiring boomers, very few GenX, lots of Millennials. - Facilities. Some facilities seemed to be old and in constant state of disrepair and decline. Again, related to presidential administration funding fluctuations. - As mentioned in a previous review (circa June 2015): “There is a good ole boys club at ATC that is very hard to get into or over.
