Pros

If you want to settle down, this is a great company to work for where family always comes first. Politics and bureaucracy exist like in all big companies. You just learn to go with the flow after fighting with these for sometime. The Sr. Leadership does an amazing job in focussing divisional / departmental efforts in the things we do at Abbott. I have seen most of the managers synch up with Company values relatively quickly and this helps individual contributors in many ways. The company has great benefit package (company matching 401K, pension plan, yearly bonus, a decent medical/dental plan etc.,).

Cons

If you are career driven performing an IT role, your career choices are; limited.
