Pros

Apart from a few times when workload is too much, worklofe balance is there. If the team is Underwriting or finance or if the direct reporting is to onshore, the team environment is good. A lot of HR activities and 1 off-site plus 2 or 3 team lunch/dinner, depending on budget

Cons

All other teams - policy management, claims, etc. Not great teams to join. Too much unnecessary politics, career becomes redundant, low salary, high expectations, very slow promotions unless manager favors, may take 2-3 years minimum to reach senior analyst position. Increment ranging between 5-8% even if your performance is satisfactory - you receive satisfactory rating only after going above and beyond. Appreciation from onshores does not matter and your valuable contributions will be downplayed. Too many mind games and people talking behind each other's back to keep track of it. On the face of it, everyone supports diversity like neurodiversity and pride groups but all they do are events and no real impact. In fact, they are unaware of sensitivities towards the various groups, even the allies. All feedbacks are rigged.

Pros

401k match and work life balance.

Cons

Mandatory 3 day in the office, abysmal raises (2-3%), and overall crappy culture. They're trying to improve the culture with “culture champions”, but it is just lip service because the company refuses to provide any meaningful budget for food or branded gifts for their employees. Office is very quiet and not in a good way. There is NO upward mobility unless you’re already in upper management.
