Pros

Excellent benefits, good pay, company pays for outside training, company issues tools and computer. AVFX does excellent work for high profile clients and has a reputation as one of the best in the region. Equipment is at the high end of appropriate for the task. Employees are trusted to work independently and department leads typically design their own shows. This is a great group of smart conscientious people to work with. Not a lot of office political drama and everyone works well across departments. Lots of daily collaboration and working to improve our product. They promote from within. The senior management came up from within the industry. Many employees have been with the company 15+ years. The senior management managed to guide the company through the Covid catastrophe largely intact.

Cons

Management is secretive about financial results. Profit sharing benefit has been cut drastically since AVFX was acquired a few years ago. Other benefits, personnel, and policies have remained consistent since the acquisition. Communications are sometimes lacking and strategic decisions are typically made with little input from employees. There is a lack of diversity, which is typical for this industry. Since this is a small company there has been limited opportunity for advancement, although there is planned future growth. Long odd hours are sometimes required. It's show business.

Pros

A great learning environment for up and coming AV industry people, great crews, modern equipment, high end clients and productions in many cases. Good opportunities to climb the ladder of the AV industry from bottom.

Cons

Stingy about giving meaningful raises, senior management laser focused on money and very little else. Extremely high volume of work makes it hard to feel like each event is set up for success. Senior management willing to "tip this place on its ear" and fire everyone at acquired companies if it suits their ends. Multiple C suite/admin positions added in the last 18 months, with techs being downsized and having benefits and pay slashed.
