AVDS does not have or ever had an employee that ever worked in San Jose, CA full or part-time. It is a shame people have to post inaccurate information to cause harm to a company and its employees. Fake reports do not help a company to better itself. AVDS just re-employed an employee who wanted to see if they could start their own business. It did not work out and we were more than happy to have them rejoin the team. Does that sound like a company that does not respect their employees? A company that has implemented Employee and Wellness Committees to help them deal with work/life balance. A company that constantly receives awards for the best place to work.

Pros

Independence, Skill Development Encouraged, Empathetic Leadership, Supportive Co-workers, Everyone Qualified for their Positions

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth into a management role because of the company's size.

Pros

I would not have been able to imagine that I could have such camaraderie and a feeling of 'family', with most of "the office" being remote. I am grateful for the flexibility and benefit of being able to work this way, as well as being close to several co-workers as if they've been with me at the next desk for the past 5 years! This is a company that certainly does value the employees, with innovative initiatives to encourage more interactions and bonding, as well as being responsive in general, to the needs and concerns of the employees. Also, many companies will claim an "open door policy" as it pertains to upper management, but how comfy are you with picking up the phone and talking to the President? Well, here you can, and I do, at least a few times a year. Going above and beyond is rewarded with both recognition, as well as monthly and yearly prizes. There is a business to run, and a desire to be the best, two things I can appreciate, and all the while employees know we are cared about. What more would a conscientious employee even really want from a work situation?

Cons

Any downsides I can think of would not be specific to AVDS, such as remote work feeling isolating for some and that sort of thing.
