You may not make enough money as a freelancer/independent contractor because the assignments only last a couple of hours. You may have to partner with one or more other companies to make enough money to cover your bills.

Hourly wage, if it wasn't deceptively structured

-Missed payments (they still owe me) -No guaranteed hours for assignments (even though they promised this at first), so if you finish quickly, you get paid less -Babysitter app where you have to log everything, even off-the-clock -Babysitting from company coordinators, who make you spend hours communicating with them unpaid and will call you at random times during the 24 hour day -Failure to pay for work without constant pestering -Pay up to two months late -Shorted payments (ex: I made $17 for one day at a site 90 minutes away, since I got paid for 40 minutes of work, instead of the promised 3 hours) -Scolding/gaslighting from management for any amount of self-advocacy -Lack of communication within company - I had to have many redundant discussions with employees; they were giving me assignments for over a month after I quit - Complete dismissal of any of my concerns regarding anything - Inefficient use of time with redundant logging (everything had to be entered in whatsapp, the company app, and by phone call)
