Pros

Paycheck. None other to speak of

Cons

-abusive unhinged CEO who does not like women -complacent president who does whatever his dad (aka the CEO) says -over reliance on overpaid consultants who produce little and causes tension of actual employees -don’t expect any professional development or growth opportunities -rigid and inflexible with unclear or truly, undefined strategic goals and objectives other than “Get bookings” -constant overbearing micromanagement. Total lack of reality. CEO bases his knowledge in the past and refuses to invest money to actually make money. -0/5 stars. Do not recommend.

Pros

An internship at Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and make a real impact. Rather than simply observing, interns are given meaningful work and the chance to collaborate with experienced professionals across the organization. The supportive team environment encourages learning, professional development, and hands-on experience that helps build confidence and prepare interns for their future careers. It’s a place where you can develop new skills, gain valuable industry experience, and see firsthand how your contributions support the company’s success.

Cons

Like any valuable internship, working at ATSC comes with opportunities to step outside your comfort zone. Interns are often trusted with meaningful responsibilities, which can create a fast-paced learning environment and require strong time management skills. Because ATSC supports complex technical and mission-focused projects, there can be a learning curve when becoming familiar with new technologies, processes, and industry terminology. However, these challenges provide valuable real-world experience, helping interns develop problem-solving skills, adaptability, and professional confidence that will benefit them throughout their careers.

Pros

Fantastic team of engineers; everyone is very down to Earth; small team environment, so nobody is a specialist and everyone wears many hats. I've learned a lot in a very short amount of time. At the Gilbert location, the entire production chain was on-site, where you get to see the product being built from the ground up. Smaller company also means there is less bureaucracy compared to larger corporations, allowing for quick decision-making. The leaderships at the Gilbert location are also very approachable and supportive. Overall, I really enjoyed working at ATSC IES at the Gilbert location. I especially appreciated the grad school lab atmosphere in some parts of the company, where there were tools, parts, gadgets, benches, and hands-on testing areas-perfect for engineers who love working in an experimental setting. Watching numerous pieces being welded together and transformed into a finished product was truly fascinating. Coming from a larger company where I was highly specialized in one specific area, it was refreshing to take on a more generalist role, where everything I did was new to me and I had to do a lot of research to understand how to solve the problem. This made the work more challenging, dynamic, and fulfilling as I gained a much broader skillset in a short time.

Cons

Small company with limited resources so the test equipment can be limited, At a small company, resources are limited, so is the staffing. Sometimes the deadlines can seem very daunting given the small size of the team.
