Pros

Working there is like the two best days of owning a boat. The Day you buy it and the day you sell it Pay Checks Clear the Bank

Cons

ASR International (Web-Site makes em sound like General Dynamics) 22 /36 Month Employee Review The following is NOT slanderous merely factual review. During recruitment you will be promised an annual pay increase. After 36 to 24 months of solid performance zero pay increases. Corporate Communications: Non-exsistent. Need to speak with anyone in corporate? HR? Payroll? IT? All Calls are thoroughly screened requesting intent/purpose for calling, information given on “a-need-to-know” basis. Accrued PTO & Vacation time is intentionally hidden from view on ADP payroll…wonder why that is? Can you guess? Give a call they will verbally tell you what you have. If transferred to another project it will be without travel/subsistence /per diem/gas money or pay increase Or you can quit. PM’s have zero discretionary budgets. Need miscellaneous office supplies-paper-toner- 3 hole punch, staplers anything? All goes thru headquarters. Enjoy NAFVAC Non-Compliancy Letters of Concern? There are plenty of those. Care to mis-lead or outright lie to ROICC/NAFVAC that’s “SOP”. Laptops: Issued 30 to 40 days after on boarding, no carrying cases, external keyboards/mouse bring your own, multi-tasking documentation? Need monitors you’ll get them in a month or two. Some gave up and bought their own. IT support is random at best. Phones: iPhones no protective cases, Flip phones unable to be preloaded with project contacts (entries made w/multiple keystrokes one at a time very painful) Plan on using your own w/o a stipend Field Vehicles: Arrived with evidence of having been through a tropical storm, Engine compartments & interiors literally coated with sand. 2004 Vehicles rusted so badly that during an ASR VIP site field visit front end of step rail fell off in transit to job site and had to be twisted off in order to proceed, all observed by ROICC Command. Need oil changes-lube / wiper blades for field vehicles? Good luck. Need to wash field vehicles? that’s on you. Need repairs? Batteries? Ball joints? Will only repair once you make it a project safety issue. GO fish. Required clearances: Need T1/T3 security processing for base access? Completely incompetent. Some employees went an entire year before ASR “Gained” them. Local LCSE Field Management: Does their best to take care of co-workers. If all this sounds good, then ASR International is the place for you!

Pros

There is plenty of autonomy here. No role is limited in what they can do if there is personal interest. There is no ill-will towards anyone who respectfully wants to do their job and go home, but there is also plenty of opportunity for people to do more. Employees get the most out of working here if they are looking to grow through experience and can see the value in that investment in themselves. Efforts are made to reward hard-working employees who contribute good will to the company. Management also appreciates documented achievements / substantiation and views employees advocating for themselves as welcomed behavior (not a confrontation). The management team is responsibility focused, which means they prioritize employees getting their work done over red tape. The only red tape requirements employees are subjected to are direct results of contract/audit requirements, which is fair. The senior management is highly organized and has a strong understanding of how to do business in a highly competitive environment. Successfully running a small business in this industry is no easy feat. There are many highly educated, well experienced, people in the leadership positions.

Cons

Contract requirements sometimes create burdens employees have to deal with There can be a high workload per desk at HQ. Lean operations are necessary to deal with contract burdens. Most of the time it is very manageable - but some bad timing with a few issues or deadlines happening at the same time can result in an overwhelming workload for a standard 8 hour day.
