Pros

good food in the canteen, sample sales access for employees, very young average age, good conditions for employees directly working for asos

Cons

not very flexible, despite being a creative company you don't feel creativity in the approach to work (unless maybe you're in a creative role), very strict hierarchies, production of fast fashion is unethical - a lot of work goes into internal communication about how they are trying to improve their production and monitor their factories but I would prefer to see actions than long papers about it

ASOS Response

Hi, thank you for your feedback. ASOS works hard to take action on human rights and environmental issues. Some actions we’ve taken in the last few months: Published our sourcing map and factory list and committed to deeper mapping of our supply chain year on year- https://www.asosplc.com/corporate-responsibility/our-products/sourcing-map Published our Modern Slavery Statement with disclosure of our risks and priorities, due diligence and commitments for the future- http://bit.ly/2pvTiCv Updated our policies and introduced a Migrant and Contract Labour Policy to address changing labour markets- http://bit.ly/2pjhzk8 Set up new governance process to oversee human rights and environmental management across ASOS business. Moved all factory audits to unannounced, ensuring we see the factory how it really is on a normal day. Launched a support programme to look at 3rd party brand suppliers against human rights and environmental criteria. Committed to paying all outsourced UK employees Living Wage Foundation rate by end 2018. Signed the Copenhagen Fashion Agenda Commitment to a Circular Fashion System- https://www.copenhagenfashionsummit.com/commitment/ Joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition to benchmark the environmental performance of ASOS and our manufacturers. Increased Ethical and Sustainable teams significantly.
