ASCENDtials is an amazing organization to work for because its original, honest and genuine approach to achieving its mission. The work is remote and flexible, but still structured and systematic, using tools like Asana and Slack for better planning, task management, communication and transparency. The CEO is leading by example, passionate about the work, knowledgeable, uses positive motivation practices and is patient and considerate with every team member. The team is diverse both culturally and in professional background, which enriches the organization and contributes to creativity, development and team spirit.

Only that the work is part time currently, but as the organization is growing, this can be changed.

Good experience because you will learn how to do different things

The CEO is entirely unprofessional. She does not care about the volunteers that work there and sees us as disposable. I have talked to her many times about meetings that I would not be able to make due to classes BEFORE I started the internship but she still criticized me for not setting aside the time and blamed me for the conflict. She expected things to be done with little to no explanation and got frustrated if I was confused. The cherry on top was that she deleted my account a month into my contract because I was sick and unable to clock in. There is no work-life balance in this organization. There is only what she needs.
