Pros

Make great connections with customers Great individuals on various teams Super resources within the company Inter-office exchanges of information and assistance as well as between west coast and east coast offices were helpful and frontline staff worked hard to assist each other in an often chaotic and stressful environment

Cons

Waterfall approach to development Too many hats per person. --took the Swiss Army knife approach and expected one person to do 15 things well - ever owned a Swiss Army knife? ---it does 4 things extremely well a knife, a toothpick, a bottle opener and a corkscrew. Ever try to use the saw? After work trust me you needed the corkscrew and bottle opener. Management expectations made employees literally break down mentally and physically. Definite preference for men over women. --not particularly female friendly from upper management and above to the company that purchased ASA Lack of employee opportunity or development --did not use above mentioned resources in the "pros" section to train and share their knowledge cross-functionally or within their own teams --did not honor the stated "benefit" of paying for college courses to aid in personal development. Allowing silos of knowledge to exist to the point that when that "silo" left there was no complete or in some cases any documentation or anyone who knew how to address either their custom software design for a customer or their long ago sold and still supported product that was never sundowned when it was no longer supportable for the aforementioned issue. Management inability to set and keep standards. Lack of proper QA - I.E. A software company without a QA team relying on developers and frontline support to "Test" on the fly any upgrades while doing their primary jobs. Lack of complete customer documentation for the end products accounting and inventory components.
