Pros

Depends on which team you're with. Some teams are great, some aren't. Majority of co-workers is quite nice. Workload varies depending on the time of the year

Cons

Underpay is common - you don't generally get recognised for the (extra) work you have done. So little to no career progression here if you're not from best winning teams. For junior to intermediate engineers, sales really aren't going to be your main duty - you're basically just the workhorses here but you get the blame if your projects don't make a profit (because the overhead is just too high and uncompetitive sometimes) Directive from higher management is interesting. They don't care about flexibility. You're required to go into the work everyday (in the midst of covid especially) and honestly it's not a bad thing for some people but really in a world that's rapidly adapting and changing - are you sticking to the old fashion and claim that you're the leading innovator in the industry?

Pros

Working in the field means you don't have to interact with management daily The experience is a good stepping stone to better things

Cons

Very unorganized company, everything is constantly behind schedule Working in the field you'll be forced to crunch to make up for poor planning by management Very poor office culture, very toxic environment where people don't trust each other or want to work as a team Management will pressure you to work 12 hour days 6 days a week for 3 weeks at a time while living in cheap hotels Very low quality training that leads to unsafe working conditions
