Pros
AOPA offers an excellent benefits package. Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K match of 100% up to first 6.5% and over $3,000 annually for flying proficiency. Plenty of vacation time, holidays off, company picnics, gym membership reimbursement, etc.
Cons
Promotions are awarded to "favorite" employees and cannot be earned. Your success depends on how how much brown nosing you do. No clear path for advancement. In the Tech Specialist department, favorites are promoted to Senior Specialist and given a 10% plus raise for doing the exact same job. Management cannot (will not) detail how to get promoted. They explicitly state that the promotion is subjective.
