Little Opportunity for Promotion, Work not Interesting - Computer Engineer AMRDEC Employee Review

Lots of training (I think it was about 10% of my time during my first year) required that wasn't relevant at all to what I was doing. Management even admitted that the training was "non-value added." Work not exciting or relevant to my interests or background, even though I requested for a long time to work on other projects. Although many talented engineers there, a significant number of people there have little motivation to do good work. Lots of bureaucracy and politics, and little opportunity for promotion. Pay was very bad.
