Pros

Benefits and the pay is goof for the DC 911 Contract. IFT is okay but there is hire paying IFT operations in the DC area.

Cons

They tell you one thing but at the end fo there day, they'll do whatever it takes to get calls ran. People where hired for the 911 contract later to find they will also be ding IFT. Which I have no problem doing. but those hours should never succeed half your hours that week. Scheduling stinks "seniority" says you get the better schedule, But there is know to tell where you are in line for a schedule they may open up.They need to revamp the schedule and make it fair the masses. Right now as May 2016 its "take it or leave it"

Pros

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Cons

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pros

AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

Cons

Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
