Pros

- Innovative technology makes you feel like you’re actually helping fight a global problem - They’re open to hiring younger professionals

Cons

- They do not like to promote those younger professionals they’ve hired, nor offer any type of mentorship or direct professional growth opportunities (you’ll be stuck in your same role for 3 years!) - They hire all these bigwigs for ELT but they almost always cause inner-fighting and then quit a couple months later. Those who don’t quit, run their departments into the ground - Low morale all around the company, team morale never picked up after laying off half of the company last year

Pros

HR team was professional and supportive.

Cons

Lack of structure: No workflows, timelines, or standard procedures for core payroll processes. Key tasks like payroll run dates and 401(k) reporting deadlines were undefined. Disorganized resources. Unrealistic expectations: This role was posted as part-time, but required constant availability, immediate responses, and explanations for even the smallest payroll fluctuations. Management challenges: Manager’s communication style was unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, creating a stressful work environment. Expectations often shifted last-minute, and accountability was deflected rather than addressed. Role misalignment: Assigned responsibilities (compliance, state documents, workflows) went far beyond the scope of a part-time coordinator role.
