Pros

- work in a great team culture with international, talented, and inspiring colleagues - dive deep into medical knowledge, guidelines, literature, and pathophysiology in order to process this information into a useful format for clinical work or into exam questions that train physicians in their clinical thinking - create content with a reach of thousands of physicians and medical students worldwide - enjoy a wonderful office atmosphere if you work from the office and have the flexibility of working remotely if you are looking for a job from home - have a good work-life balance, especially in comparison with hospital work - salary reflects achievements (someone who is engaged will be recognized compared to hospital settings where salary only depends on how long you've worked in the field)

Cons

- no direct patient contact but a relevant reach on a more abstract level (the content you create affects thousands of physicians and thereby thousands and thousands of patients worldwide) - no straightforward career path (if you are looking for a steep and straightforward career, the editorial department cannot provide a path that is as well defined as a career in a hospital setting or in other job fields. This is partially due to the young age of the company and is constantly being developed and reevaluated. The goal is to have a career possibility also for the editorial department, but currently, this project is still in process.) - salary is lower than the average salaries for patient care in Germany (however, fast development of salaries is possible, although the patient care salaries will usually not be surpassed)

Pros

Fun workplace. Travel to different office locations. Fun colleagues. Solid PTO. Office parties, and lots of food and booze!

Cons

Pay! Seriously way underpaid. Also, no bonuses, or equity. Didn’t check your email over the weekend to respond to a client? Slap on the wrist. (Want me to check my emails on a weekend? Pay me more.) No possibility to move up in most roles, unless you’re in engineering or product development. This place is a revolving door. People quit or get fired all the time. I’ve stopped learning new employee’s names. Management here is as diverse as my taste in wines. White and cold.
