Pros

It was once a rising startup with good product and a compelling story to tell. Majority of senior management team were brought over from Allergan. They created a vision and attracted lots of investors as well as talents. Good pay and benefit, beautiful office and Mac Books to use. Friendly and hardworking people. Nice perks of fully stocked kitchen and unlimited personal time off. Good product discount.

Cons

Top-heavy male management team with not very diversified work force. You need to be in the "Allergan" insider circle to get promoted, or there is no future for you. Very fast paced work environment and confused internal process. Management are focused on attracting investors, not so much on building up the business. With recent layoffs due to financial crisis, it will take years to recover.

Pros

Lots of autonomy, and a place to really grow yourself if you are willing to put the time and effort

Cons

Its a start up mindset, so don't expect the hand holding development

Pros

Great personal and professional development. At ALPHAEON you are given all the training and tools you need to succeed. They offer ThinkAlpha classes which talk about mindfulness and the power of your thoughts, hold training on how to interview properly and look for top-performing candidates, and are constantly communicating the goals and vision of the company. There is no yearly review like at most companies. Instead, you have quarterly "check-ins" with your manager in which you drive the conversation about how you are performing, what areas you want to improve in and what tools you need to get there. My manager and I seem to have these kind of conversations daily, but hold a formal meeting quarterly. I have never felt more in control and focused on my career development. There are also plenty of snacks and food around at all times, but for me that is more of a con because I love free food and have zero will power. ;)

Cons

No 401k matching (every employee is given stock options instead) Parking structure/walk to building deters people from getting out and about on their lunch break
