We also think our team members are our greatest asset and believe it’s our talented team that sets us apart!
2020 was a transformative and challenging year with the complex nature of a company split, teammates dealing with their own personal and professional challenges during the pandemic, and a variety of systems implementations. No doubt that this placed significant demands on teammates across the organization.
Based on focus groups and surveys, we sought the input of our team to be responsive to ways to enhance our culture. Throughout 2021 we have taken numerous steps to enhance our teammates work experience. These include summer hours, breakfasts with the CEO, lunches with leaders, reception with the Board, Town Square events, Thirsty Thursday, leadership book club, ongoing clarification of priorities, filling open positions, enhanced resources, and much more.
We encourage and welcome open and honest dialogue to ask questions and share ideas and concerns. In addition to “open doors” and accessible leaders, we also have focus groups, surveys, “ombudsmen,” an online suggestion box, and a confidential/anonymous reporting tool.
We are routinely reviewed (quarterly) and audited (annually) by our independent auditor. In addition, the audit committee of our board is comprised of independent directors and reviews regularly our financial statements and our financial control environment. We also have a robust internal audit function and an intentional focus on maintaining our internal control environment. It’s simply incorrect to say that our financials are “flawed.”
We are proud to be recognized as a “Top Workplace” in Colorado from the Denver Post for the ninth consecutive year and will work with our teammates and leaders to continue cultivating the kind of culture that affords longevity, growth, opportunity, and camaraderie.
