Pros

Some really good and genuine people working there with great potential who are wasting their talent in this company.

Cons

Where to start and where to end. Micromanagement of the staff, awful behavior by the management, the CEO is the worst bully you can possibly find in any industry. The CEO's everyday goal is to make everyone fight with each other, to create a mess in the company so everyone is to be blamed. Use of threats and personal attacks on daily basis. Nobody knows their responsibilities and tasks and the company is constantly working on a chaotic mode which cannot be justified by its size. The HR is invisible as well as the line management. You feel that you have nowhere to turn to to express your disappointment. People come and leave all the time. The environment is extremely stressful, toxic and counterproductive for anyone who really wants to work and achieve things. Some people in high positions are just intolerable, rude and have no idea what they are doing. In general, no management skills exist and no way to tolerate things for a long period. Also you feel that you are constantly being watched not only at the workplace but at your private life too. Stay away from this terrible terrible company.

Pros

- Senior Management are committed to the continued development of the company, as such, they are open to new and revised ideas on policies, procedures & structure. I personally have found that my proposals have been well received & feel responsible for changes implemented for the better. - I have found the opportunity to progress is an easy task within AFX as long as you display a positive attitude and work hard to deliver on your goals and targets. I have found myself with responsibilities that I may not have had the opportunity to take on so quickly in another organisation. It is good to know that management have this kind of faith in employees who want to progress their career. - A flatter structure than most organisations makes it easy for employees to approach managers as senior as the CEO & MD. - Expansion goals under AFX are continuously being developed and executed in terms of both new locations and new products/business lines. - Many opportunities for international travel and relocation. - Goals to streamline internal processes are continuously being developed and implemented. - The company are generous in regards to professional development and any courses/certifications needed or proposed by employees.

Cons

- Although things have improved, internal communication still needs a tad more polishing. - There is no pension package here currently which I think employees would enjoy, but with auto enrollment fast approaching, this won't be an issue for too long.

Pros

- Location in Central London (close to Sta Paul's) - Paying Salary on time - Environment not so noisy, due very few employees occupying a large office

Cons

- The owner/Director of the company pays lip service to employee empowerment but then meddles and blocks at every turn, without wanting to take responsibility of any outcome - very limited understanding of how to make things actually work - Director has no clue how to relate to, let alone lead people and thinks that a Machiavellian type of leadership were a "dividere et empere" approach is the clever way forward with 4 employees in the London office at the time. - Total absence of any team spirit or lived values that would motivate staff. Instead there seems to be a "hand me over your clients and then I kick you out" attitude from the Director. Scarcity thinker. - The place is an Italian love affair and all efforts directed towards the Italian market at the expense of all others. The whole thinking is very "Italo centric", where the Italian way is the "gold standard" of course.
