Pros
I'll be honest this is my first private company I have worked for, let alone I was a little nervous knowing that the owner/CEO is African American. I didn't meet him until 2 months after I was hired, he personally invited all the new hires to the corporate office. We were brought into the conference room and then loud music started to play, it was the Rocky Theme song, and it seem as if the entire office walked into the conference room, all happy and energetic. After that song stopped, then HAPPY by Pharrell started to play, and I thought this was funny, because everyone was dancing then this Asian lady walked in with a celebration hat on and she told all of us to get up and dance don't be shy. Then these two other guys came in towards the end of the song, this Latino guy and a African American guy walked in towards the end of the song, they sat down sorta quickly, I'm thinking oh they're late. When the song ended everyone sat down. The Asian Lady introduced her self as the President and Chief Operating Officer and I was like oh we have a Asian Lady who owns this company. Cool! We went around the room introducing ourselves and then the African American guy was last. He stood up, Everyone started to clap and whistle he walks up to the front and says, Amie, Jason, Jake, Bob, and all of us new hires by name to please stay in the room, and everyone else may go back to your work stations. He didn't even look at a piece of paper he looked at each and everyone of us when he called our names. I was like wow he remembered all of us in the short time. I'll always remember that, but then he scared me by saying he is the founder and CEO of the company and I remembered what happened to my sister when she worked for a African American business owner, it was not a good thing at all and I was ready to quit right then. It's been almost 2 years and I'm still here. What keeps me here at this company is how the leadership team is, we are constantly being trained, they listen to us. It doesn't matter where we are at, we can always contact our executives and they answer their own phones. All managers put it in their daily plan to make sure our best interest is being put first. This company is so diverse, and they promote equality for everyone. I have been promoted 3 different times and I'm in this new pilot program because I have voiced interest in Public relations. They are paying for my college tuition, and when I finish I'll become an executive in the company public relations. Wow! I can't say enough good things about this company, This company continues to grow and I have learned that our corporate office is moving because we are out growing our current space. One of the guys got married who is gay, they invited our corporate managers, and they all went! What's cool is the CEO paid for their honeymoon as a wedding gift. There is no discrimination! and I mean none; there is none. I love how we are expected to go home on time. A company who cares about their staff is a winner. These large companies could learn from the small private companies. I'm forever grateful and will never judge a book by their cover ever again.
Cons
I wish they would match the 401k plan, there is no matching at all on the plan. I wish the medical insurance could be cheaper it seems to be a bit high. I'm use to paying $55 per paycheck versus paying $72 per paycheck here.
