Pros
Outdoors all the time seeing new areas from tops of mountains to rice fields to orchards. Getting to do reliability projects, outage reports, fire investigations and orchard circuit work.
Cons
Horrible bonus program, bad benefits, low pay when your look at the dangers of going on private property with home owners with guns, dogs, poison oak, snakes, bees and anything else that can be thrown at you with little pay to compensate you. Tree crews will not work with you sometimes and you have to answer for their work to the customers that had their trees butchered! 30 records a day are expected while you get paid the same as another employee that does 10 records a day. Big push for R1 removals (trees under 11.99 inches) to be removed because in the PG&E utility market they don't want to pay to trim anything. No extra pay for the extra work it takes to sign those trees up for removal. Your truck had a geo tab in it that tracks your every move. Also in California the company will make you pay a tax on your work truck that comes out of your pocket, not fair when considering you can not use the truck other than for work or stops on the immediate way home. No the line of we pay for your gas from and to work is bull because I would live no more than 7 or 8 miles from work if that was the concern. No trust there. Overall the worst company I've ever worked for.
