Pros
Great benefits, close to home
Cons
I’ve worked at ACOG for some time now. I’ve seen the organization change to how it is today. It’s a terrible organization and I’m disappointed that they call themselves a women’s health organization given that they don’t care about their employees. There is no clear pathway to promotions or how to even go about in getting one. The performance review process is a joke. It’s clear that they don’t want a lot of high performers out of the fear that they will have to increase their salaries. There’s so much nepotism in the leadership team. Legal and HR only agree on decisions that benefit them, not the organization. Legal is way too involved in everything and no one trusts the CLO, as she’s been behind all the C-level terminations. HR does not support employees. They’re all told that they’re replaceable. HR has been behind a lot of the terminations as well and there is no trust in them. Employees would rather go to Glassdoor to complain about something than speak to HR directly. Everyone seems to be after one another here and there is no sense of community. Perks have been taken away such as alcohol at events, paid inclement weather closures. It’s a disaster. Employees have disappeared without any notice or communication. Black women have been terminated for no reason, yet there is a diversity initiative. How hypocritical? Your message is loud and clear. You don’t care about minorities, much less black females. No transparency about compensation ACOG was better operated under Lawrence and former leadership. This organization has so much work to do and will never be where they need to be because they don’t care about their mission or employees. ACOG wasn’t perfect under Lawrence, but it surely wasn’t as terrible as it is now. I cannot name a single employee that is happy here. I would never recommend someone to work here.
