Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Achieva. We are grateful to hear that working here felt like being part of a family. Creating a supportive, mission-driven culture is something we value deeply. We also appreciate your feedback about growth opportunities. One of our current priorities is strengthening career development for employees, particularly through investments in professional training and advancement pathways. For example, Achieva recently launched the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) E-Badge Academy, which provides direct support professionals with specialized training, nationally recognized credentials, opportunities for increased pay as skills are developed, and a clear career ladder within the organization. We know there is always more work to do, and feedback like yours helps us continue to improve. Thank you again for your contributions to Achieva and for sharing your perspective!

Pros

It was a paycheck, that's it.

Cons

Upper management is very political, and not in a good way. CEO repeating talking points in an all-company meeting, from a government that uses disability slurs and cuts funding, is a terrible thing. That hurts morale in a big way. Bullying by management is common and people kiss up or leave for much better situations to avoid being targetted. Constant focus on raising money is depressing - we give enough already, stop asking. Mailing a very expensive full-size magazine that looked like a high school yearbook club made it , to thousands of people (including ex-employees) tells you everything you need to know - they are all about the show and waste tons of money on it. Spend that money on people with disabilities instead, and raise direct care wages. Isn't that the reason you are asking in the first place?

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your experience was not a positive one. As a non-profit organization, Achieva’s work focuses on supporting people with disabilities. Our communications are intended to highlight the impact of our services and keep stakeholders informed. Contributions are always optional and help further our mission, particularly in support of our no-cost advocacy services. We remain committed to communicating with employees in a non-partisan manner because our funding comes from both federal and state sources. Clear and consistent communication is vital to assuring staff of the continuity of our services, and we show our appreciation by continuing to invest in our workforce. We take your concerns seriously and will use your feedback to inform ongoing conversations about how we can improve as an organization while staying aligned with our mission.
