Poor leadership, lack of willingness to improve - Research Associate ACET (MN) Employee Review

I’ve worked as a contractor with Stella and her team for nearly two decades. I’ve always been impressed by ACET’s commitment to delivering quality work while remaining flexible enough to work with a diverse range of clients. In my experience, ACET really walks the walk in terms of culturally tailoring their services and their deliverables. Stella is extremely organized and efficient. She also sees her clients as people rather than transactions. She’s always willing to invest the time and energy to work on a deliverable until she feels it meets her—and her clients’—standards. As a consultant, I’ve always appreciated her friendly yet professional approach to collaboratively achieving quality work.

As a consultant, I haven't expereinced any cons working with ACET.

The projects are well intended to support many communities. The staff (not including management) have each other’s back.

Working at ACET is challenging due to problematic workplace culture. The leadership team consistently falls short on integrity, authenticity, and transparency. Without being specific, there are no reprimands for yelling at, disrespecting, or targeting staff. The CEO allows this behavior and is extremely avoidant of reality and addressing it. This dynamic keeps people on edge and anxious. There is a big disconnect between the company’s public “values” and “mission” and reality. Like others said, those are more superficial and a tactic to draw in business than anything. Career advancement is largely stagnant here. Annual reviews can be pretty subjective. I’ve not had to actively follow so many rules and procedures ever in all of my career. It’s demoralizing. I would not recommend working here. There are better opportunities elsewhere.
