Pros
There aren't any. If you were properly paid, the scheduling flexibility would be a pro. But since you don't get paid, it's meaningless.
Cons
You are only paid for the time actually spent recording plus 15 minutes of admin time. If there is a no show, which happens often, you are only paid 15 minutes and there is generally only one hearing an hour. This system, on top of being needlessly complicated, results in your pay being astoundingly low. When counting time actually spent at the hearing office, my pay was four dollars below minimum wage for my area. Absolutely criminal. On top of the abysmal pay, you have to deal with bureaucratic dysfunction, a joke of a training process, and an isolating and confusing work environment.
