The owner, Rachel Meyer, is incredibly skilled in language instruction and acquisition. She makes you feel comfortable in the interview, supports teachers with training, and creates a fun and comfortable atmosphere.

It's not about the company, but since Covid a number of students are opting for online classes, and it's not my favorite way to teach languages. That said, they don't take it out of my pay when students opt for an online option.

As with other language schools in NYC, the pay is as low as possible ($25 per hour, no matter class size). I basically teach here to keep sharp as a teacher and not for a paycheck. Classes start as an 8-week long engagement and can abruptly end if students don't sign on again. I have only taught 1-2 classes at a time, so the work availability isn't very dependable.
