Pros

Working as a Behavioral Technician at A Friendly Face has been an incredibly positive and rewarding experience for me. The company's commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals with developmental disabilities is evident in everything they do, from their training programs to their supportive work culture. One of the things I appreciate most about working at A Friendly Face is the level of support and mentorship provided to new employees. From day one, I felt like I was part of a team that genuinely cared about my success and growth. The company provides ongoing training and professional development opportunities that have helped me to improve my skills and expand my knowledge in the field of behavioral therapy. The work itself is both challenging and fulfilling. As a Behavioral Technician, I have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the individuals I work with. I have witnessed firsthand the progress and growth that our clients achieve through our therapy programs, and it is truly inspiring. Moreover, the company culture is supportive, collaborative, and respectful. The management team is approachable and always available to provide guidance and support, and my colleagues are friendly, helpful, and passionate about their work. In summary, I highly recommend working at A Friendly Face as a Behavioral Technician. The company provides an excellent work environment, ongoing training and development opportunities, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities

Pros

The Pay is okay but could be better

Cons

Pay could be better, and while training used to be strong, the overall experience really depends on your BCBA. Some people are lucky to have one who is attentive to the child’s needs and supportive of therapists, while others aren’t. Since behavior techs spend the most one on one time with the child, their observations are often crucial, and it makes a big difference when the BCBA listens and values that input, especially since they don’t supervise as often. Another concern is pay. If you’re at the AFF building working with your assigned child and another therapist doesn’t show up, you’re only given full pay for your child and half pay for covering the other. This feels unfair and when I shared this with people at other workplaces, they were shocked that such a policy even exists here.
