Thank you for acknowledging the rewarding aspects of working as a mental health clinician. It’s what keeps our staff coming back each day. A Better Way (ABW) makes a concerted effort to lay out staff productivity expectations, and to equip staff with tools and resources to meet them. We do our best to retain employees by providing a series of HR check-ins to make necessary accommodations and support career growth. Regarding your program’s weekly in-person staff meeting, we find this to be a completely reasonable request, and this requirement is clearly stated during the hiring process.
ABW is a community-based and client-centered organization, figuratively and literally meeting clients where they are to provide mental health and other services. We understand there is sometimes a significant amount of driving involved, but this is the nature of the work, and we strive to be fully transparent regarding driving requirements.
ABW pays competitive wages and exceeds the industry standard of PTO allocations, aiming to create as much work-life balance for our staff as possible. Our generous time-off policy includes 4 weeks of PTO (which increases to 5 weeks after 2 years of employment), 14 paid holidays (including 2 floating cultural holidays) and a fully paid year-end holiday break (that includes the already-paid holidays of Christmas and New Years).
