Pros

I worked at 50 State for over a year, and enjoyed my time there. I ultimately left because I decided to choose another career path, but I would've remained had I wanted to stay in politics. I learned a lot while I worked there - about different political races, different industries/issues as the clients are in many fields.

Cons

Some of the work can be tedious, sometimes I felt like I was reinventing the wheel for various clients who wanted reports or memos done only slightly different. Sometimes I was asked to do things very last minute for presentations or meetings, but I think that's how these jobs go.

Pros

While the work can get somewhat demanding and high-paced, the ability to work from home and find a good balance makes for a good workplace. The senior people usually just work from home or are at meetings all day, but the people you actually see in the office are always nice and pretty friendly as well. I felt welcome immediately and never felt abused or pushed to hard. I read another review about stocking water bottles and I don't think that person worked at our company.

Cons

Flexible work hours can be a double edged sword. You might be able to work from home on Monday or your manager might let you go home early, but then other days might require you to stay late. It all balances our and never felt abusive, but just be ready for some slight flexibility in your work hours.
