Pros

You make connections with your fellow interns!

Cons

You’ll be doing the bulk of the pre production work and won’t be credited on it later. You’ll get a production assistant credit for above the line type work. You are doing much of the leg work for projects without any pay. You have to do research for projects, contact people in the film, set up the interviews and coordinate equipment and location details. Work i do as a producer, not as an intern who isn’t being paid. While this is good experience to get, it feels as if this company is taking advantage of its interns. Boss had interns doing personal errands for him, like cleaning his home office in Connecticut, or sitting in his car outside while he’s in a meeting. He also doesn’t listen to your ideas. He’ll give you an assignment and when you have the opportunity to update him on your work, he won’t listen and then will tell you to do exactly what you’ve just told him you’ve done. There’s also a weird sense that you’re pitted against your fellow interns for a job that doesn’t allow you any room to grow. This internship put a bad taste in my mouth for my field that i am very much in love with.

Pros

4th Row employees and C suite are collaborative, down to earth, and incredibly helpful. You get real experience and really cool opportunities to work on projects that are actively being rolled out. Everyone I worked with there was super friendly, able to answer questions, and help you develop necessary skills for the various roles in film production (pre and post!).

Cons

Not many cons, job does require a certain level of knowledge of production/ editing softwares.

Pros

None, terrible to work for.

Cons

This company doesn't pay their contractors. I received a down payment on a project only because I said I wouldn't be giving them any work until I'm paid, which is how I work. They have strung me along since then on the same project, and made up the excuse that they are being "paid late" for another smaller one that I worked on in the interim. They are a terrible company and I'm currently looking at options to sue them for the remainder of what I'm owed. Do not work with them!
