Disjointed Accounting Department, Inefficient Processes - Basically it was a mess! - Anonymous employee 1Path Employee Review

- High turnover within all departments - especially with the engineers and field technicians. - Low pay for accounting industry standards, even when adding in the nominal bonus that you may or may not receive. - Vendors/Contractors were paid late with some not being paid at all. It was all too common for contractors to email and call for weeks - first, asking to be paid and then, demanding that we pay them or else. The lights were turned off at one location twice for failure to pay, which caused the whole business unit to shut down for several hours each time. The trash at the same location wasn't picked up for weeks due to failure to pay and we fielded many calls from employees, who were complaining about the overwhelming stench and wondering when we were going to do something about it. - A lot of hours were wasted in pointless meetings when a simple email would have sufficed. This wouldn't have been that big of a problem if the workload was reasonable -- but, I was constantly being asked to step away for "ad hoc" meetings when I had the workload of 2-3 full-time employees, which caused me to have to take work home regularly in order to meet month-end deadlines. - The accounting department was disjointed in every way. The accountants did not work together and often times had no idea what the other accountants were even working on. The Corporate Controller appeared unbothered by it all. It was all very strange. - A lot of the accounting that should have been automated was overly manual. Many hours were spent each day just to generate and send a handful of invoices out to clients. Instead of streamlining the process, it just became more and more convoluted. - The culture did not extend throughout the entire company. Every business unit felt like its own company with its own way of doing things.
