My tenure at 1103 STUDIOS took an unexpected turn when I was terminated without clear reasons. Despite seeking clarification in a meeting, the response provided was vague, attributing it to the employee’s contractual term rather than any specific misconduct on my part. In an attempt to expedite matters, I proposed my resignation, but the process was surprisingly prolonged. The commitment to provide an answer on my last day remains unfulfilled even a week after my departure. This lack of transparency and professionalism is disappointing, especially considering the company’s purported emphasis on transparency. It raises concerns about their commitment to fair employment practices and employee well-being.

Termination Process: Your termination followed the guidelines set by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, which includes a one-month notice period. We also provided you with a tailored work-from-home arrangement during this time to support your transition. 2. Process Prolonged: The process was prolonged because you brought your Mother into the conversations. This behaviour is highly irregular in a professional setting. However the company wants to respect you and your Mother, and in engaging with your Mother, we have had to have multiple conversations both in a professional and a personal setting. 3. Empathy: Again, we want to reiterate that engaging with your Mother in this scenario which is meant to be professional and not personal was our way of showing empathy towards you and your Mother. In a normal circumstances, we will not have engaged an employee's parent on work matters. However we are conscious that this is your first full time job, which is why we applied extra compassion and engaged with your Mother in addressing her concerns. 4. Communication: In response to your concern about communication regarding terminations, we want to clarify our approach. We believe in discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive matters such as terminations. Therefore, we did not disclose the details of your termination company-wide out of respect for your privacy.

Pros

As a contract BD, I had a lot of ownership over strategies. They are laser focused on certain industries, which makes it easier to sell when the agency truly understands the niche. Management is involved especially during key client interactions. The agency moves fast and you’re given space to run with ideas.

Cons

Pace can be overwhelming, not for someone who needs spoon feeding. Processes still evolving. As a growing agency, some SOPs or CRM processes were still being refined.
