Pros

You see a lot of other amateur talent in the same place

Cons

-After you spend several weeks making a game, they try to coerce and even pressure you into handing all assets over to them and signing a contract that gives them ownership over your work. (but they try to cover it up and say it's open-source). It is basically an asset-farm for the 'CEO' to pick and choose what assets to sell offshore. -P1 claims ownership over anything you post in their Discord (art, assets, ideas). -The 'CEO' Samuel Martin's experience is fake and inconsistent - he claims to have held high-up positions in several big-name studios, but it turns out that he basically just made communities of people work for free for him, flipped those assets, sold people's work to the studios and made money off of that. -You are guilted into doing 'introductions' for them daily where you onboard new, unaware talent, and sometimes spend 4+ hours a day unpaid on that alone. -The opportunities promised are fake or unpaid. The industry contacts were never proven, either. -P1 and Samuel Martin are banned from most dev/game communities on reddit and recruitment for P1 is banned those reddit communites.

[P1] Games runs a free open-source incubator funded by sponsors. We have never sold a single asset from that community. Three out of four participants find it more valuable than their university experience. The Apache Contributor License Agreement (CLA), which we have everyone sign is used with the Apache License and protects users from patent lawsuits. Our legal team recommended using the Apache CLA alongside the Apache License. When it comes to Reddit, it should be made clear that Reddit is operated by volunteers, and in this case, a disabled volunteer failed to properly assess what was handed to them by somebody who was blackmailing our company at the same time, and decided to take an action without double-checking. To suggest that this is the majority of indie game development Reddits, is disingenuous. In fact, we were recently publicly endorsed by a group of almost 700,000 on Reddit at the same time. We don't promise people opportunities. However, we empower people to obtain opportunities on a regular basis, opportunities in which people get jobs in the industry. Lots of people speak up about the jobs they've gotten with us: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7215467804232183808/
