Pros
Assuming you're good, you'll be trading live within only 3 months - which is much sooner than pretty much anywhere else. You'll also be trading for one of the main MMs in HK that's sufficiently profitable. If you continue to perform and play your cards right (including playing the political game), you can do pretty well for yourself. Aside from that, you'll also be in HK; which is a great place to live and work. And, finally-as others have mentioned-the games room is a nice perk.
Cons
Unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros. As I mentioned in the pros, you need to play the political game. You'll soon discover who the guys in the "exclusive club" are. And if you're not in that group, then your career will suffer. Maybe not so much in your early years, but definitely once you've been in the company for a good few years. Aside from that, the culture is fairly toxic. You're pressured into perfection, and even if you achieved that unachievable state, then you'll still be made to feel like you're not doing well enough. That makes it difficult to guage what your true performance is like and adds unnecessary stress to an already stressful job. Then there are your limited exit opportunities. Options MM requires a very specific skill set that's pretty untransferable. But even if you wanted to move to another MM, Eclipse isn't a great name and Eclipse is also very manual in their trading. Most other MMs place great emphasis on automation and would look unfavourably on such a manual trading background. Over the past year, A LOT of people have left or have been fired. And it's very questionable how loyal the firm is to their employees. I'd also like to add that you should take the positive reviews with a grain of salt as Eclipse is well aware of the negative feedback on this site, and they make the traders write super positive reviews multiple times to balance out the negative reviews. Ultimately, it's at your discretion whether you choose to work for Eclipse or not. I'm not disgruntled in any way and just placing this review out of full honesty - I'm confident you'd find what I said true after only a few months at the firm. If you do choose to join Eclipse; work hard, socialise and get into that club. Take initiative, exceed expectations and have thick skin. If you do that, then you'll be able to reap some of the rewards. If it doesn't work out, then it's not the end of the world.
