    Pros

EPCOR is a great company to work for. I enjoy the work culture and team environment they offer. The projects we get to work on allows me to feel like a valuable contributor to the success of the company.

They offer a great total rewards package, and a good work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Ensure commutation continues to follow to all levels of the company.

I have been working at EPCOR full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay and work life balance

    Cons

Senior management treats employees poorly. Don’t get sick otherwise ,you’ll lose your job and you’ll be treated differently from your peers. You won’t even get a hi from senior management and you’ll get nothing but attitude and you have to deal with it.
It’s very unfortunate that a very good company like this employs senior management that creates uncomfortable working conditions for employees. If senior management suspects that an employee was away due to mental health illness, they immediately put you on their radar. You’re lucky if you get a smile.
Secondly, there’s a lot of favouritism and nepotism in Energy Services. There’s little room for growth and your opinion and ideas mean nothing.

    Advice to Management

You need to treat your employees fairly. The rampant favouritism needs to stop. Employees who have been away due to mental health issues need to be treated fairly and it’s more crucial for your leads to be in an environment that they feel safe. EPCOR spent so much money on training for management in regards to mental health and I hope that The stigma ends starting with mental health. Employees shouldn’t receive attitude because they’ve been ill.

I have been working at EPCOR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - positive, supportive working environment
    - great people to work with, we work hard, work as a team, and we also have fun
    - open door policy is actually handled that way (all the way up to the CEO)
    - career opportunities are countless across different business units and departments; development is supported

    Cons

Like in every large organization, it sometimes takes a long time to implement improvements. Being a regulated business adds to that challenge. Overall the EPCOR leadership is however open to recommendations and works with us to make things happen if there is alignment with business strategies and goals.

I have been working at EPCOR full-time

    Pros

Good company culture, really fast paced. Really big focus on safety.

    Cons

Work life balance is terrible. Hiring extra staff is almost impossible due to regulatory nature of business. But leadership still piles it on until staff and managers are at breaking point.

    Advice to Management

You need to learn how to ensure your staff don't get overloaded. It's ok to do less sometimes
