Decent company with no room for advancement

Pros

- Independent workflow - free alcohol at company sponsored events - Holidays off - Free events - Sample products - Discounts on entertainment centers - Benefits (but, minimal)

Cons

- Extreme nepotism (Every branch is run by a Doll family member, jobs are usurped by the younger family members on a whim) - Quiet revolving door mentality (employees quit and are fired constantly with no word from management or the owners. The only way that one finds out an employee is let go is either by an email bouncing back, or it being mentioned in passing months later) - Flat company structure - there are the owners, then team managers, then drivers, account reps , etc. Once you make it to team lead, you cannot go higher, only sideways) - Outside applicants hired first in most cases. Employees that work there are rarely informed of newly opened positions because of the silence surrounding people quitting / being let go. Only the lowest positions are announced. - There is very little in the way of guidance from management or the owners. - Vacation is rarely given without grumbling from management, even after they've approved it.

High expectations, low incentives

Pros

Direct managers and coworkers are very friendly. It can be a fun atmosphere. Some perks like knowing latest products and events.

Cons

Many changes in recent months have led to disorganization and much of this weighs on lower level employees bringing down morale. The expectations are very high and only get higher but pay and incentives do not match it. For my position, Iowa is low on the national pay-average, this company is at the lowest for the state... Favoritism and nepotism are very common. Many of the perks they advertise for employees are no longer available.

Pros

Some day you could be a salesmen or drive

Cons

If you start in the warehouse they don't like to move you up. Cause it's to hard to find a replacement for the warehouse. An everyone in the warehouse is paid the same. For some dumb reason. But you know the warehouse supervisor is making 20plus a hour. An does nothing. While I make $14.42 an bust my back an do half of his job plus mine.
