High expectations, cool work enviornment

Pros

Very flexible hours with ability to work from home. Some departments are able to be more flexible than others when it comes to work schedules. The office layout is very modern, with the ability to work in more solitude or work at a table with a large group of people. There are snacks provided and the office is located right by many cool places to eat. Lots of great events and access to wonderful networking opportunities.

Cons

Because of flexible work schedules, high expectation for work to be completed outside of the office, including on holidays and weekends. Fire drills with clients can be common due to changes in campaigns, and employees are expected to deal with those as they pop up...not wait until "work hours." Even though the office layout is nice, it can be quite distracting at times with movies playing at the main table during "Movie Fridays" or any number of songs blasting through the speakers during the day. If you can deal with distractions well, this wouldn't be a problem. Sometimes the office culture feels clique-y with people who have been there longer or people who are friends outside of work excluding others. There is also a lot of time spent in meetings (one per day for development team, one for whole office per week, one planning every sprint, one retro every sprint) and at times it felt very redundant and excessive.

Do yourself a favor, work for another start-up

Pros

There are too many better run, more interesting start-ups with better company cultures and better pay for you to take a job at Digital Additive. They do generous company parties, but that's where it ends.

Cons

- Limited flexibility - some teams can work from home as freely/often as they want, others can't even if there's no reason for them to be in the office. - Silo'd teams, even silos within teams - Very negative company culture, lots of negative feedback among employees, declining net promoter scores among employees - Low pay compared to other marketing agencies - Stilted, uncomfortable, clique-y environment at HQ (are we still in high school?)

No diversity at all

Pros

Overall the company is good, but lack of dedication from employees from senior level. A little racist, only hires white people. I don’t see any other races in the company. Literally zero diversity.

Cons

Zero diversity. For god’s sake, please hire someone that’s not white.
