Disappointing Delta

Pros

They pay well and have fairly good benefits, they love to talk a good story.

Cons

They are somewhat stuck in their own little world and don't want to, or can't change. Very poor computerized sales system that can confuse the brightest minds and waste far too much time estimating and quoting work, which is why they are tied to having "inside sales people". Watch out for the back stabbing inside click of people as they love to whisper in the presidents ear every chance they get...whether the rumor is true or fictional. Time to get with the real world folks and change things for the good of the company before it's too late.

Pros

This company is an amazing company to work for. Their cultural values that the management has created shows their vision and where their focus is. Integrity, Service and Quality. It is refreshing to work for someone who doesn't jerk you around and take advantage of you. I have worked for, and seen that way too many times, and I am thankful that Delta is not like that. The management is very approachable and open to feedback. In fact, you are even ENCOURAGED to talk to them. I also like how the President isn't just a name who you never see and only hear about. He walks around the office and manufacturing shop every day and is very warm and friendly. The pay is nothing to scoff at either. It is very much in line with, and above, the industry standard. A small bonus, at least for me, is that you get paid weekly, NOT bi-weekly. Having that steady cash flow coming in feels great. The benefits are amazing! I do not think I could go back to the sub-par benefits of my previous employers. There are a lot of opportunities for advancement within the company. Pretty much every single job opening is offered to the employees first, before being open to the public. They also pay for your education. The hours are great and even slightly flexible. You are not yelled at for working overtime, which was a first for me. The paid vacation, holidays and the like are very nice. You also get "floater" days, which increase the longer you work at Delta.Speaking of which, there is very low employee turnover at Delta. They do a very good job of taking care of you and is definitely a company you can work for, for a long time.

Cons

There are some times where the internal communication is either lacking or falls apart. Things will get sorted out quickly, but it can still cause issues. This used to happen a lot more when I started and the company has gotten much better at making sure these things don't happen nearly as often. The training for the inventory system doesn't seem to be all there as people don't follow the system all the time which can lead to running out of stock or other issues. I am not sure if this can be solved through more training or through better management of the system.
