Pros

Great job for knowing nothing and being lazy. You get responsibilities, and are able to tell people what to do. No matter what your expertise is, you can get away with only using 20% of your mental capacity at all times. Great job if you need the money, just starting out, or are in a transition state. This place is a great stepping stone, but not anything else.

Cons

- only real way to get ahead here is to kiss major butt - gimmicky technology products - ownership makes new product decisions without real thought or data - fake data and analytics get sold to the clients - clients get sold products they dont need - you might get real clinical anxiety from working too closely with owner - everyone at this company thinks their area of expertise is technology, design, ui, ux, etc. - requirements change, but deadlines dont - account managers/project managers dont take accountability for late projects - ceo answers personal calls during meetings with employees - ceo yells - incompetence everywhere, and people doing jobs they shouldnt be doing(ie. QA manager should not do project ownership/product manager tasks) - people go on medication and get anxiety from dealing with the ceo - this company hires fast, and fires slow - at one point employees were asked to anonymously rank their fellow employees with the implication that lower ranked employees would be fired. - this company has no transparency, and people purposefully keep useful information hidden. - leadership has no decisiveness, and constantly goes back on their word. - too much decision by committee, with a committee of truly unqualified people to make decisions - this place at times claims to be a startup - its not

I'd rather lose a limb than ever work here again.

Pros

I made some pretty great friends working at DZAP/ LeaseLabs and for that I am thankful. You will probably never work at another place where your coworkers become some of your closest friends with whom you will regularly hang out with outside of the office. This is a good thing because you will need a trustworthy source to commiserate with and confide in about the horrors of your job/day/upper management boss. Nobody else will believe the stories that you share about being berated publicly in front of your peers by a mercurial crazy person unless they experience it themselves— and trust me, we’ve all been there.

Cons

The owner thrives on creating uncomfortable situations, unreasonable deadlines, and publicly embarrassing employees. It is absolutely impossible to get any task, small or significant, accomplished without going through multiple unnecessary revisions with upwards of 5 people. Minds and priorities change like the weather—to put it bluntly, this place is Machiavellian middle school. It’s a cruel, cut-throat, dishonest and overall unpleasant environment to work in. Upper management is juvenile, unprofessional, SPOILED and overall ineffective in their management of what many would consider a talented and capable staff. They pride themselves on the parties and company events that they throw which are essentially mandated culture events. The owner takes your absence deeply personal regardless of the reason for missing it, be it planned PTO, family events, or the need to go to your second job because you’re not getting paid enough at your “9-5.” (In quotes because 10 hour days are the norm here. Also, I hope you like eating lunch at your desk.) My favorite statement that I ever heard the owner say was “Nobody’s job here is safe” which brings me to my next warning to those considering a position here. Should you choose to work here, you will work long hours with little to no thanks for your efforts; you will be thrown under the bus; you will be screamed at for something you couldn’t possibly control; you will live with constant anxiety about your job security and you will likely need some kind of medical attention for the mental and physical conditions you will develop from working here. This is not an exaggeration.

Pros

- I learned a lot from being here, and enjoyed much of the work that i was doing. - The location in Bankers Hill is great. - Many of the people working there are good people, and very talented. - Compensation does include opportunity for bonuses and raises.

Cons

- Change is not organic, expect to make 90 degree turns often and without reason. - Expect to change supervisors, job duties, desks, and workflow regularly. - Overall employee satisfaction is very low and the turnover is incredibly high. over 25 people quit in 2 years. - Those who complain often get their duties handed to much busier individuals. - Expect to argue a lot to get things done. - The CEO is unprofessional and rude to employees and clients. Expect a lot of yelling to go on at the office. - Deadlines will never shift, regardless if project scope changes, or if approvals or edits are held up on the client end. - Cost and speed always take priority over quality. - Beware the false reviews on here as many of them are suspect, and clearly written to improve appearances.
