Pros

-The work life balance is great -The people themselves are great. Everyone is easy to get along with and caring.

Cons

-Stepping stone company -The benefits are not comparable to other firms -401k matching is pretty small. They don't match a percent. They match a percent of a percent, so every year varies and the contributions are very negligible -Health insurance is super expensive compared to other firms -As numerous reviews state, nepotism -Principals are stuck in their ways and do not seem to care that the benefits are not comparable to other firms. Nothing has been done to entice employees to stay after employees have expressed their opinions of the problems with the high cost benefits -The company, as far as overhead goes, acts as though it is a large national firm. Due to the high overhead, projects are often over budget due to having to bid low to get the win in order to compare with other firms

Engineering Firm with Potential - But...

Pros

DRMP has been around for 40 years, somewhat decent reputation (mostly FDOT, CFX, Municipality work) Most of the Engineers have been with the company a long time (which can be good and bad). Some administrative groups are somewhat decent (they have great employees and others that should have been gone a long time ago). No accountability (for those who care to work for an organization that lets you do whatever, then DRMP is for you. There is a cavaet just make sure you either are someone's family member or someone's favorite employee (this is no joke).

Cons

DRMP has various divisions and those are divided within the 7 Principals of the company, which creates inconsistencies (each Principal/Division has their own rules about everything, some are better to their employees than others). In addition, there is extreme nepotism, some employees holding important positions are not educated or lack the necessary experience to do a decent job. People stay because they are comfortable and have been there for so long that it is not worth leaving at this point. The HR department is not confidential or professional. The recruiting, onboarding and overall HR is a joke. The accounting & marketing departments have lost valuable employees due to the management (at all levels). Most of the management has been with the company and have no interest in change or improving what is not working, most of them are not even aware of technology or best practices utilized within the industry (excluding the IT department which is a good group for the most part). Management does not like to work/promote gays and/or women, they only promote man (Good old boy system) This is well known too!. The intership program is just cheap labor, is not necessarily a program (not too many interns stay). The bonus program - wait the lack of a bonus program is not even worth talking about it (hint: who you know... )If you really want to work for a good company that really takes care of you look somewhere else. But if you don't believe this review and the others, give DRMP a chance. Just make sure that you write a review once you become a former employee. Good Luck!

Pros

Some of the people are nice and helpful

Cons

Managers Gossip about all employees Favoritism Double Standards Pay scale is lower the most firms High Benefits No growth opportunity & you only receive promotions if your a favorite or a family member. Current managers and vp's should be evaluated they lie, play favortism that is blantley obvious, the employee of the qtr is a joke, you must be a favorite to win that or a family member. The principal 's claim they have Open door policy but it only applies to favorites. The HR department has a a couple of nice/helpful people but a couple of them dont respond to emails or return calls. The IT department mgrs think they are the best and are rude, but the two guys that help most employees are nice. Stop discrimination against Minority's , stop acting like the minoritys are not good enough.
