      Pros

      - Freedom to fail and explore new ideas - If you want to build innovative and grown-breaking technologies, your most profound fear is to find yourself in a culture where failure is seen as negative. The culture at Cortex is the opposite. Failing fast and productively is a priority for the team. As a result, you find yourself intellectually challenged every day by exploring ideas that have not necessarily been explored before. - A very transparent management team - If you have ever found yourself in a highly hierarchical culture where only the upper management team could bring up new ideas, Cortex is the complete opposite. You find leaders asking for new ideas and advice from everybody on the team, regardless of experience or title. As a result, working at Cortex feel like being part of a family.

      Cons

Although you acquire new skills every day by working within a very multidisciplinary environment, minimal mentorship and learning resources are provided to grow professionally due to the fast-paced environment. When a weakness is identified within the team, the gap is often filled through consultancy rather than providing mentorship and necessary resources for current team members to sharpen their skills. It is expected to change as the team grows.

        Pros

I recently joined Cortex a few months ago and joining Cortex is the best decision I’ve ever made. The people at Cortex are the best part of working at Cortex. Everyone has a voice and is heard. We all work together as a team and support one another. Management has done an amazing job of providing the perfect work environment and culture. The company works on a broad spectrum of projects at a fast pace, which proves to be both a difficult challenge and a great learning experience. If you’re looking to improve or learn new skills, work on projects that are fulfilling towards your personal growth, and work with the most amazing group of people, definitely give Cortex a shot.

        Cons

You may have to work on multiple projects at once, which can be difficult at times.

      Property Manager

As a leasing agent for two years, I then worked my way to assistant manager for t 11 months. Then, to a property manager position, nine months into my new role as manager, I was terminated, with no warning, completely unexpected. How do I explain this undeserving action and embarrassment in an upcoming interview without any risk in the decision-making of my employment with the company I am interested in? I hope I am relaying this in a way that is understood.
