Pros

Engagement & interaction with many different companies; Traveling for training.

Cons

Lack of support during training & onboarding, building locations are under staffed, lack of structure in operation, lack of pay for expected hours of work. No work life balance despite company stating it in their core values. Company hires a lot of friends or family of other colleagues-makes it hard for professionalism to be practiced

Pros

Common Desk is a cool place to work if you're young, fresh out of college, and looking for a cool experience. Happy Hour is part of the job description, so get ready to have fun.

Cons

If you're looking for something serious, this is not the place. If you went to college and have a good degree, don't waste it here. You'll be sitting at a front desk sorting mail as a secretary for the next year and a half of your life, wasting your knowledge for terrible pay. We are hourly and management told us we are not allowed to get overtime anymore even though that was part of the pitch during my interview when I expressed concern about $20/hr. Everyone that management likes will get endless opportunities for promotions. If you're not friends with them, don't expect anything and I mean anything.

Pros

1. Lots of down time - You're basically on your computer all day. Everyone online shops all day. 2. Nice coworkers - Everyone there is nice, but management plays hard favorites. Very much a "get in line or get out" culture.

Cons

1. If you're not a favorite, you're not a priority. Very high school-ish way of treating people. There's really no way to get help or constructive criticism. If you need help or want to talk about something that's wrong, you're basically told that you're the problem. I tried asking for more help at my location and was met with "you're not doing enough" but in flowery language. 2. Confusing expectations - No roles are clearly defined. A lot of responsibilities are ignored or passed off, and it's confusing to figure out who needs to do what. 3. Coded threats - I would sit through so many meetings that were supposed to be inspiring, but ultimately communicated that nothing was going right. Very confusing to figure out if you're doing your job correctly. Gaslighting language that kept you on your toes and made you feel like you could lose your job at any moment. 4. Stressful, toxic work environment - Looks really fun on the outside, but employee needs are not met. You're given a lot of busy work that makes you feel like you're doing something but once completed, the work is tossed to the side and never touched again. Overall, I would not recommend Common Desk.
