      Pros

      Smart, passionate people, who are committed to social impact and building world changing solutions. Progress: Huge in China and the US. 80,000 Educators worldwide. Great perks and flexibility. Autonomy and very respectful. Very diverse, nice kind, teammates. Allowed to make mistakes without being crucified nor reminded of at a later time.

      Cons

      Very socially conscious and caring which is unique... you have to want be a good person and passionate about helping others. If you're not about having an impact and helping people, culturally you might have trouble fitting in. We're expanding quickly and communication has the typical challenges of a company of this size. We're growing quickly with big goals.

      Pros

      CodeCombat has a lot of supportive people in the company who are always ready to help you and walk through processes with you if you feel stuck or need a refresher on how to do something. Great benefits and fun team environment. They also promote growing and learning while you are working there. They value each member of the team.

      Cons

      Working remote can keep you from really connecting with everyone on the team (they try to alleviate this with video meetings and setting up time to speak with other members outside of your team). The company is newer so they are still working on programs and solutions and bugs are still being worked out.

      Pros

      The best thing about CodeCombat is that the leadership values and trusts its employees. This is demonstrated by flexible vacation and work from home policies, as well as how the company has prioritized building company values. This is impressive at such an early stage at a startup. Additionally, the people at CodeCombat truly care about its mission to advance Computer Science education through game-based learning.

      Cons

      Leadership issues: not all of the managers at CodeCombat are effective leaders, which lowers morale. Not all communication or decision-making is transparent. The company has also prioritized growth and speed over quality in the past, which has resulted in negative feedback from customers.
