    I worked at Circleback

    Pros

We had parking in the building and the coworkers had so much potential and value

    Cons

Management was a joke and the product had little no scalability for future endeavors especially in the B2B space. Unreasonable expectations were set for sales on a product that management knew nothing about let alone how to position.

I worked at Circleback full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Allegedly well-funded; aggressively small team; the view is relatively nice; the elevators work; free coffee; personal desk; gulag-esque work atmosphere

    Cons

Zero regard for well-being of employees, fundamental flaws in the product, complete charlatan of a CEO. If you are an investor, or, alternatively, you are potentially looking at this company as a next step in your career, run, run as fast as you can. Let me paint a picture. Imagine you're working your hands to the bone for more than 50 hours a week, the whole "first one in, last one out"-type deal. Imagine if you're exceeding your KPI's by 125%, then, suddenly, you're blindsided at 12Pm on a Friday afternoon with the announcement that you and the rest of the sales and marketing team are being let go due to a pivot. Imagine that this all transpires with zero warning, and, on top of that, the management team has the chutzpah to offer you one week's severance. Happy Holidays, to you too. This is all less than six months' removed from raising 12m in capital. Where did the money go? Why is such a pivot necessary? If the product is so downright deficient, why sell investors on a fraudulent data point (hint: 90% is an outright lie, and I invite anyone screaming "slander" to allow for discovery of said supporting documents in any suit)? Why hire a team based on a complete and total lie? CircleBack's offerings sound downright-peachy on paper, but the fact of the matter is that the products are no more accurate than a google search. Do you want contact data that was, maybe, accurate six months ago? Do you feel like indirectly sharing your data with dozens of your closest competitors? Boy, do I have an opportunity for you.

    Pros

Smart management and dev team, fast moving, good market, great learning and growth opportunity. Most the senior folks have been there for awhile. You wear a lot of hats, like at most startups. You get lots of exposure to new and different roles and are challenged daily by smart people.

    Cons

Startups are hard. It's a lot of work, under a lot or pressure and a big microscope. You can't hide if you're not producing. Not sure this is a real con, just more of a FYI for folks who think startups are all ping pong, kegerators and stock options.

I have been working at Circleback full-time

    Pros

This is a fabulous start up environment. The company has an ingenious and disruptive product that keeps getting better and better every day. Competitors are increasingly coming to CircleBack for the data because they know it's the best. The staff is open door and friendly. There was a house cleaning of employees earlier in the year and the management has learned from some early bumps to do a much better job of hiring people who fit into the culture and get along very well. Sales volume is skyrocketing to where the environment is nothing like it was just 6 months ago. It's just getting better and better.

    Cons

Typical cons with any start up - focusing on the best opportunities and direction in which to grow. Having to sort through process and staff having to wear many more hats than they might initially expect, but that's a learning experience which is not necessarily bad. Bottom line is every work environment has problems, but the nice thing about CircleBack is each day gets noticeably better with more support, better technology, more opportunities, more staff, etc.

I worked at Circleback full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The pros is that the people are great. The idea that they had in the beginning was great

    Cons

The biggest issue is lack of communication from management. When your sales team asks for help you should probably do so. The sales director is in the seat as more a trophy object than someone who can actually build a solid team. Both the CEO and CFO have lied to investers about the sales numbers in order to secure more funding. I feel bad for those who have given Manoj millions of dollars for this product.

    I worked at Circleback full-time

    Pros

Smart people, good pay for a startup, very novel and powerful approach to the data business. They're very well funded as well. Everyone is extremely bright.

    Cons

In multiple instances, they are very very quick to terminate employees (even by startup standards). There is no review, discipline, or improvement process. Several of my colleagues weren't even aware there was an issues until they had been 'let go' because of it.
