Pros

Some quality people here and there. Winters are amazing. Work can be thought provoking.

Cons

Unethical, revisionist, disloyal, political, hubris especially the C-Suite. CEO, CTO, CFO, SVP of Sales, Senior Vice President of Commerce for MyList, CPO generally do not get along with each other. Ethical people are walked over and chastised publicly. Too many quality people let go, too many of wrong people let stay.

Major management problems as the others said

Pros

- Health care package when I was there was strong - Vacation was average - Pay was reasonable

Cons

After being hired, I was warned by a VP the first week that multiple others had been in my managerial position and did not last long. This shocked me but I shrugged it off wanting to do the best job I could. Within weeks I was fired for changing my task priority. I asked what to do with VP A's task that I was assigned and was told in no uncertain terms by VP B that he would take care of it. When manager A found out from me I was no longer on his task, he went ballistic and said that was the way to get shown the door here. I asked for us all to get together and talk it out as adults as I was willing to doing whatever was needed. I was then told by VP C later that day that I was fired and I was not allowed to even speak to the other managers to at least get clarity on what I might have done wrong! They gave me only a legally generic reason for the firing and ignored my subsequent emails. As far as I could tell, their issues went all the way up to the CEO.

Lack of direction and focus

Pros

Great health benefits, very comfortable environment, decent salary, flexible work hours. There are quite a few very passionate people who want to make the company successful.

Cons

Immature for a company that has been around since 2000. I feel sorry for the old-timers who still think they will make money off stock options. Get a clue. If you haven't made a dime off your options in 10 plus years it is never going to happen. The dedication is impressive but heads are buried in the sand. When I started I laughed at the 5,000 options they gave me. Even funnier when you start asking around about how many options there are in total. The only ones who will make money are VP and higher. New senior managers get 50-100 times that. That is accurate. People should be careful what papers they leave on printers because that's how the news got out. Old-timers still hang on. Noobs don't get it yet. But those of us in the 3-6 year range dont drink the kool aid. Many left in recent months. Time to move on and find a real opportunity. I say five more from my group will leave before Q4. Company seems to be struggling. A remodel project that was to be done six mos ago is on hold but no one ever tells us why. Performance reviews were 2 mos late. And now even with a top score I get almost no raise.
