-great for people that don’t like change -pulp and paper industries such as this facility are subject to multiple permits and regulations, and if those particular regulations and permit NESHAPs and NSPS are your interest this is an opportunity for you in Halsey, Oregon. -in this department the manager shields you from all other management, which can be seen as a pro.
Cons
-No opportunity for advancement or promotion, this is it. -Absolutely abhorrent medical health plan. They are privately insured to save money by cheating you of a normal health plan. I promise hospitals and clinics and doctors offices will harass you about not knowing how to bill this insurance, it was a really awful experience. Hopefully you are insured under your spouses plan and don’t have to deal with this. Good luck. -raises are cost of living only, no recognition for going above and beyond. -Not training. If you are young and ambitious this is not for you. There is no training and development opportunities. It’s just a small company owned by Chinese investors and they try to save money everywhere they can. -Halsey has 1 restaurant, so there are no lunch opportunities in the area besides that. The nearest town is 30 minutes away. Very rarely does this facility treat their employees to a lunch on the company.
