Pros

Quiet atmosphere. Not much disturbance

Cons

Poor training, employees are not resourceful as well as not helpful at all. If I had to ask a question I felt nervous as the employee would get irritated from questions..they expet you to learn everyhting by reading a piece of paper without providing proper guidelines and information about the correct procedure. Was not oriented and guided well on what is right and what is wrong.

Pros

Free food some days. Pay is okay for a small business. Weekends are nice because the owner's usually aren't there so people are less stressed.

Cons

Where to start. First of all, Regent Square is NOT an actual neighborhood. It is just the area of the city where Edgewood, Swissvale, Squirrel Hill and Wilkinsburg come together. A lot of their apartments, which are advertised as Regent Square, are in Wilkinsburg. If you are not familiar with the city...let me explain why this is a problem. Marketing an area as Regent Square when it is really Wilkinsburg is misleading. The part of Regent Square towards Squirrel Hill, Edgewood and Swissvale is nice. Wilkinsburg is an absolute dump and CP Development markets overpriced apartments in this area. The owners of this company are, for lack of better words, crazy. Peter can be rather nice although he gives the impression that he thinks everyone is stupid. It is his personality. Charlie is hands down nuts. He is awkward. He doesn't listen to ideas. He screams at tenants on the phone. He makes things way harder than they have to be. He is horrible at explaining things and just as bad comprehending things. The apartments are gross. They claim they renovate but the renovations are so poorly done...I do not know if they are any better than original condition. Plus, they are in a terrible area. Pay is okay. Benefits are non existent. No health/dental/eye insurance. Office is disgusting. You work in a shabby old house....in the basement. Constant turnover. People come and think it will be okay...then the true colors show after a few months.

Pros

Interesting and often fast-paced workdays during the rental season (February - August) made working in the office exciting. Opportunities to solve problems and work on special projects is available to all employees who are interested making it easy to feel like you've made a major contribution given the intimate size of the organization. Time-off policy is fair and work-life balance can be difficult with a rotating 7-day a week schedule but is doable.

Cons

Management uses negative feedback almost exclusively. The company is owned by two brothers: One a professional and constructive former attorney, the other a self-proclaimed poet. Unfortunately the latter sibling's caustic personality and selective micromanagement force his brother and employees to function in a constant state of repairing whatever emergency he has created. This boss is also fixated on another rental business that operates in a different medium and is thus presents no direct competition. Most employees find ways to work around upper management and avoid contact whenever possible. One middle manager who has worked here for five or more years oversees the majority of office operations, for instance, and most management decisions that don't require a lot of thought can be routed through him (he hesitates to take responsibility for just about anything unless it happened years ago). This makes it a little easier to enjoy the positive aspects of this job.
