Pros

Open plan office, large windows with natural light, quiet background music. Friendly, chatty atmosphere. Flexible with appointments/annual leave. Office based in town, so can pop out for fresh air/to shops at lunchtime. Interesting and varied work.

Cons

SME so can’t offer benefits of a large organisation

Pros

Fairly flexible with appointments, needing to pick up children or such scenario you might need to leave work early (within reason). Flexibility with arranging annual leave. The office has windows.

Cons

No formal contract was ever given to me. Husband and wife team as directors - family micro business - expect open bickering, open arguments in the office, swearing and shouting. No career growth opportunities. No professional development. Cramped office with no privacy (property previously a one room flat). One small toilet directly leading off from the office so everyone can hear you pee. High staff turnover. They don't care much for their employees because they are so concerned with making as much money for themselves as possible. No staff benefits. Low wage with minimal negotiations. Atmosphere in the office is awkward, unfriendly and boring. No social events or team building organised.

CBA Events Response

At CBA Events we take the happiness and welfare of our team very seriously and so we are really disappointed that on this occasion, something clearly hasn't worked. It's a first for us to get feedback like this, and we really are taking it seriously. During your employment we went through a period of planned but rapid growth. Over those few months, it meant that the leadership team faced a very real challenge of balancing their time between managing that growth and giving our great staff the focus they deserve. What we will say is that improvements have been made right through the business - our people are, and continue to be the number one priority. Since you left we have continued on our trajectory of growth and have acquired more space for our kit and staff. Like any business, there are times when space is simply outgrown and we are lucky to have a lovely office right in the centre of town that our team enjoy. We are really sorry that it didn't work out. We have (and will continue) to work hard to make CBA a great place to be.
